DLA Piper makes Diversity Honor Roll
Firm client Exelon named DLA Piper to its 2014 Diversity Honor Roll due to the diverse staffing of its matters. We are one of only three law firms among Exelon’s 103 preferred counsel to receive this distinction.
Exelon implemented its Diversity Honor Roll to recognize firms that demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion through utilizing lawyers of color and women at levels that meet or exceed Exelon’s targets in both categories. In 2014, Exelon’s target utilization was 15 percent for lawyers of color and 25 percent for women lawyers. We exceeded both. Congratulations go to relationship partner Andy Weil (Chicago) for his inclusive leadership in staffing Exelon’s matters.
We are also very pleased to have partnered with Exelon on a diversity pipeline project called Just The Beginning (JTB), which offers free educational pipeline programming for students in middle school, high school, college and law school to inspire under-represented, under-served and at-risk students and increase the diversity in the legal profession.
It is an honor to be recognized by Exelon for our diverse staffing of their matters and to partner with them in helping to inspire a future generation of lawyers.
