Race and Culture
As one of the world's largest law firms, with lawyers and staff in more than 30 countries around the world, we are, by our very nature, multi-ethnic. We know that our clients expect our people to represent the communities in which we work and value our ability to advise them on both local and global cultures and markets. With offices worldwide, our efforts to understand, value and incorporate differences are woven into our culture.
Champions of change
Our resource groups for lawyers of color include African American/Black, Asian Pacific American and Hispanic/Latino. Each of these resource groups provides a forum for networking, business development, education and support. Each group has an executive sponsor, someone who is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and who advises the group and helps to champion members' objectives.
Celebrating our heritages
During their respective national heritage months, our resource groups for lawyers of color sponsor national speaker events video broadcast to all offices in the US and featuring notables from the political, civic, business and educational arenas.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in Australia features 14 key actions aimed at building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organizations. As part of our commitment to our RAP, we have RAP Committees in each of our Australian offices that seek to raise awareness and understanding of reconciliation, while helping to implement the key actions from our plan.
